Play-in-a-day

Play in a day.png

Plan A: Play-in-a-day
One group of 30 children attend following the structure of their normal school day. We work with them on drama techniques that help them develop and learn a 5-10 minute play. At the end of the day parents and families get to watch their performance.

At B.U.R.T theatre we understand the enormous amounts of pressure put on schools in so many different ways and we wish to make things as smooth, easy and fun as possible and help each individual school in a way that suits them best. With that in mind if you have a subject, no matter how specific, we will write each new play-in-a-day especially for you. For example if one year group are studying the Romans we can write them a short play about the Romans. If a year group is learning French we can write a play for that. If another are reading Oliver Twist we will write their play about that etc…. there are no limits on what you choose but with absolutely no work or planning necessary from any teachers.

It is also very important to us that the students own understanding and learning shine through in each play and therefore each groups input will be a firm foundation of each performance making it personal and memorable experience for them.

Alternatively if you just want any subject at all or just something fun to develop drama skills, or just as a treat then we can choose from a great number of our own pre-existing play-in-a-day school scripts.

Plan B: Drama workshops
One group of 30 children attend following the structure of their normal school day. There is no performance element but we work with the children on drama techniques, confidence building and projection.

Plan C: Drama workshops
Two groups of 30 children attend in one school day; one group in the AM session and one group in the PM session. There is no performance element but we work with the children on drama techniques, confidence building and projection.
